Target Information

The PPP4C gene encodes a subunit of a trimeric complex that acts as a conserved transcription factor binding to CCAAT motifs in promoter regions of various genes. Subunit A interacts with a tight dimer of B and C subunits to form a trimer with high DNA-binding specificity. The A subunit mediates sequence-specific interactions and functions as a regulatory subunit. Post-transcriptional regulation may occur through protein degradation or translation control, and alternative splicing in the glutamine-rich activation domain shows tissue-specific isoform preferences.
