PPP4C 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 삼합체 복합체의 한 구성요소로, 다양한 유전자의 프로모터 영역에 존재하는 CCAAT 모티프에 결합하는 보존된 전사인자입니다.
Subunit A는 B 및 C 서브유닛으로 이루어진 이합체와 결합하여 DNA에 높은 특이성과 친화도로 결합하는 삼합체를 형성합니다.
A 서브유닛은 서열 특이적 상호작용을 담당하며 조절 서브유닛으로 작용합니다.
이 단백질은 단백질 분해 또는 번역 조절에 의한 전사 후 조절을 받을 수 있으며, 글루타민 풍부 활성화 도메인에서의 대체 스플라이싱으로 조직 특이적 isoform이 존재합니다.
