Target Information
MAP2K4 (MEK4) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the STE7 family. It phosphorylates and activates JNK1, JNK2, and p38 MAP kinases, preferentially targeting the tyrosine residue of JNKs. MAP2K4 plays a role in cellular stress responses and inflammation. Loss-of-function mutations have been associated with lung and pancreatic cancers, while pro-oncogenic roles have also been reported.
