Target Information
MAP2K4 (MEK4) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the STE7 family. It phosphorylates and activates JNK1, JNK2, and p38 kinases, primarily targeting the tyrosine residue of JNKs. MAP2K4 plays a key role in cellular stress responses and inflammation. It is implicated in carcinogenesis, with loss-of-function mutations found in lung and pancreatic tumors, while also exhibiting pro-oncogenic roles in certain contexts.
