Target Information
Glyceraldehyde 3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (GAPDH)는 해당과정(glycolytic pathway)에서 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate의 가역적 산화적 인산화를 촉매하는 대사 효소입니다. GAPDH는 세포 내 필수적인 ‘housekeeping’ 기능을 수행하며, mRNA 발현 연구에서 표준으로 자주 사용됩니다. 최근에는 GAPDH 단백질 발현량 비교 연구에서도 항체가 활용되고 있습니다.
GAPDH는 amyloid precursor protein, Huntingtin, actin, tubulin 등 다양한 단백질과 결합하는 것으로 보고되었으며, 일부 형태는 Alzheimer’s disease 및 Huntington’s disease와 연관되어 있습니다. 또한 세포자멸사(apoptosis) 조절에도 관여하며, 세포가 apoptotic 상태가 될 때 세포질에서 핵으로 이동하는 특징을 보입니다.
