Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms heterodimers with p50 or p52 subunits. NF-kB p65 plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells. Activation occurs via TNFα-induced phosphorylation of IKK, leading to proteasomal degradation of IκB and subsequent nuclear translocation of NF-kB.
