Target Information
Plexin A3 acts as a coreceptor for SEMA3A and SEMA3F, essential for class 3 semaphorin signaling and cytoskeletal remodeling. It plays a critical role in axon guidance during neural development and regulates migration of sympathetic neurons. Required for normal dendritic spine morphology in pyramidal neurons, and may influence semaphorin-mediated programmed cell death. Class 3 semaphorins interact with a complex of neuropilin and plexin, where the plexin component modulates affinity and activates downstream signaling.
