Product Specific Information

The HTA125 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). This receptor family is characterized by leucine-rich repeats and a cytoplasmic domain similar to IL-1 receptor. TLR4 associates with MD-2 and CD14 for LPS recognition and signaling, and is expressed by peripheral blood monocytes.

For optimal staining of TLR4, use the lysed whole blood protocol rather than Ficoll-gradient prepared cells, as the latter reduces staining intensity.

Target Information

TLR4 is a key receptor in the Toll-like receptor family, essential for pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. It is expressed in placenta and myelomonocytic leukocytes. TLR4 forms a complex with CD14 and LY96 for LPS signal transduction, mediating cytokine production for immune response. Mutations in TLR4 can affect LPS responsiveness. It is expressed by monocytes, a subset of B-cells, and placenta.
