Product Specific Information
- For IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Formalin-fixed tissues require heating in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, then cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
RAD51 is essential for homologous strand exchange, a crucial step in DNA repair through homologous recombination. It binds both single- and double-stranded DNA and exhibits DNA-dependent ATPase activity. RAD51 facilitates the recognition of homology and strand exchange between DNA partners, forming a joint molecule between a processed DNA break and its repair template. It forms nucleoprotein filaments in an ATP-dependent manner, necessary for homology search and strand exchange. Mutations in RAD51 are associated with breast cancer, mirror movements 2, and Fanconi anemia.
