Opsin Blue은 G-protein coupled receptor 1 family의 opsin subfamily에 속합니다. 이 유전자는 정상적인 색각을 담당하는 세 가지 원추세포 색소 중 하나인 청색 원추 색소를 암호화합니다. 이 유전자 결함은 tritan 색맹(tritanopia)의 원인이 되며, 청색 및 황색 감지 메커니즘이 결여되고 적색 및 녹색 감지는 유지됩니다. 청색 시각 결함이 특징입니다.
