Target Information
NRIP is a novel 860 amino acid nuclear protein consisting of seven conserved WD40 domains and one NLS motif. It binds to androgen and glucocorticoid receptors and upregulates their transcriptional activity, functioning as a nuclear receptor coactivator. The role of NRIP has been implicated in cell growth and in cervical and prostate cancer, indicating potential therapeutic relevance. Northern Blot analysis detected high expression of NRIP in skeletal muscle and testis, and low expression in heart, prostate, and adrenal gland.
