Target Information
CDCA4 encodes a protein belonging to the E2F family of transcription factors. This protein regulates E2F-dependent transcriptional activation and cell proliferation through the E2F/retinoblastoma pathway. It also influences JUN oncogene expression. CDCA4 exhibits nuclear-mitotic apparatus distribution and participates in spindle organization during prometaphase. It may act as a midzone factor involved in chromosome segregation or cytokinesis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified, along with two pseudogenes on chromosome 1.
