Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with other core histones, it forms the nucleosome structure that organizes DNA. Histones are central to transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo various post-translational modifications, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, which influence chromatin structure and gene expression.
