Target Information
The Sec61 complex mediates protein translocation across the rough endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It consists of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits forming a heterotrimer, which further assembles into the ER translocon. The Sec61 alpha subunit is a polytopic membrane protein with ten transmembrane domains and associates with ribosomes to facilitate membrane and secretory protein assembly.
