Target Information
STMN2 (also known as SCG-10) is a neuronal growth-associated protein that shares significant amino acid sequence similarity with the phosphoprotein stathmin. It may play a role in neuronal differentiation and modulating membrane interaction with the cytoskeleton during neurite outgrowth. Reduced expression of this gene has been associated with Down’s syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease.
