• Reconstitute antibody with 50 µL of double distilled water (DDW).
• Store reconstituted solution at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The calcium pump of the plasma membrane, termed PMCA ATPase, pumps calcium from the cytosol to the extracellular space. This membrane-bound enzyme is related to other ATPases including SERCA ATPase and the sodium/potassium pump.
There are four different genes encoding PMCA ATPase, producing 20 isoforms through alternative splicing.
Gene products 1 and 4 are expressed in most tissues, while 2 and 3 show tissue-specific expression.
In the pancreas, beta cells express only the 4b isoform, whereas alpha and gamma cells express both 4a and 4b isoforms.
Different splice variants exhibit distinct affinities for calcium and calmodulin (Cat. # MA3-917 and MA3-918).
