Target Information
RCC1 is a guanine-nucleotide releasing factor that promotes the exchange of Ran-bound GDP by GTP. It regulates chromosome condensation onset during the S phase and binds to nucleosomes and double-stranded DNA. The RCC1-Ran complex functions in signal transmission pathways detecting unreplicated DNA and plays key roles in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport, mitosis, and nuclear-envelope assembly.
