Target Information
E1A-like inhibitor of differentiation-1 (EID-1) is an acetyltransferase enzyme that binds to the retinoblastoma protein (Rb) and the adenovirus E1A-associated cellular p300 transcriptional co-activator. EID-1 inhibits cellular differentiation by blocking the histone acetyltransferase activity of p300. It acetylates both histones and non-histone proteins such as the NCOA3 co-activator, tagging histones for transcriptional activation. EID-1 also interacts with phosphorylated CREB protein, mediating cAMP gene regulation and acting as a co-activator for transcription of cAMP-responsive genes.
