Target Information
The NR0B2 gene encodes an orphan nuclear receptor that possesses a ligand-binding domain but lacks a conventional DNA-binding domain. It belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family, which includes transcription factors regulated by small hydrophobic hormones. NR0B2 interacts with retinoid and thyroid hormone receptors, inhibiting their ligand-dependent transcriptional activation. It also interacts with estrogen receptors, leading to inhibition of their function. Research suggests that NR0B2 represses nuclear hormone receptor-mediated transactivation through competition with coactivators and direct transcriptional repression.
