Target Information
This gene encodes a protein identified in metastatic cell screens, particularly mammary adenocarcinoma cell lines. Expression correlates with metastatic potential in several carcinomas but is also found in normal tissues. Initially thought to be part of the NuRD complex, it is now believed to be a distinct yet similar protein. It contains DNA binding, dimerization, and methylation-related domains, suggesting a role in transcriptional regulation via chromatin remodeling.
