Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
In response to adverse environmental changes, cells increase the expression of heat shock or stress proteins. HSPB1 (Heat Shock Protein Beta-1, also known as HSP27) is a small heat shock protein functioning as a molecular chaperone that maintains denatured proteins in a folding-competent state. It plays a role in stress resistance and actin organization. Through its molecular chaperone activity, HSP27 regulates various biological processes including phosphorylation and axonal transport of neurofilament proteins.
Mutations in the HSPB1 gene can result in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2F and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 2B.
