Target Information
SEPT6 is a member of the septin family of GTPases, which are required for cytokinesis. One version of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia results from a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 11 and X, involving mixed-lineage leukemia and septin 2 genes. SEPT6 encodes four transcript variants producing three distinct isoforms, with an additional variant identified but of uncertain biological validity.
