This antibody detects endogenous levels of total APOB48R.
Target Information
APOB48R is a macrophage receptor that binds to the apolipoprotein B48 (APOB) of dietary triglyceride (TG)-rich lipoproteins (TRL) or to similar domains in hypertriglyceridemic very low density lipoprotein (HTG-VLDL). It internalizes TRL outside the macrophage context and may supply essential lipids to reticuloendothelial cells. It may also contribute to foam cell formation under elevated TRL and remnant lipoprotein (RLP) conditions. APOB48R mediates rapid, high-affinity uptake of chylomicrons (CM), HTG-VLDL, and trypsinized VLDL devoid of APOE in vitro in macrophages.
