Target Information
UBA6 (also known as UBE1L2, MOP-4) is a novel E1 enzyme specific for ubiquitin and part of the ubiquitin-activating E1 family. It catalyzes the activation of ubiquitin by adenylating its carboxy-terminal glycine residue with ATP, forming an ubiquitin-E1 thioester intermediate.
UBA6 isoforms are involved in spermatogenesis and male fertility and are highly expressed in human monocytes.
