- Isoform 1: Secreted, extracellular space, extracellular matrix, membrane, nucleus.
Colocalizes with integrin alphaV/beta3 at the membrane surface in angiogenic blood vessels and melanomas.
Found in mitochondria, along microfibrils, and in nuclei of cardiomyocytes. - Isoform 2: Cytoplasm, mitochondrion.
배경(Background)
Matrix metallopeptidase 2 (MMP2) 유전자는 zinc-dependent 효소를 암호화하며, 세포외기질 구성요소 및 신호전달 관련 분자를 절단할 수 있습니다.
이 단백질은 gelatinase A, type IV collagenase로서, catalytic site에 세 개의 fibronectin type II 반복 서열을 포함하여 denatured type IV/V collagen 및 elastin에 결합합니다.
대부분의 MMP와 달리 세포막에서 활성화될 수 있으며, 세포외 또는 세포내에서 protease 또는 S-glutathiolation에 의해 활성화됩니다.
신경계, 자궁내막 분해, 혈관 형성 조절, 전이 등 다양한 생리적·병리적 과정에 관여하며, 특정 돌연변이는 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
