Background
HLA-DOA는 HLA class II alpha chain paralogues에 속하며, HLA-DOB와 이합체(heterodimer)를 형성합니다. 이 이합체는 B 세포의 리소좀에서 발견되며, HLA-DM이 매개하는 MHC class II 분자의 펩타이드 적재를 조절합니다. 고전적인 HLA class II 분자와 비교할 때, 이 유전자는 단백질 수준에서 매우 적은 서열 변이를 보입니다. (RefSeq, Jul 2008)
