Product Specific Information
- Antibody is tested in direct ELISA.
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein comprising about half of the blood serum protein. It functions as a carrier for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones, and helps stabilize extracellular fluid volume.
Albumin is a globular, unglycosylated serum protein (~65 kDa), synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin. The N-terminal peptide is removed before release from the rough endoplasmic reticulum, producing proalbumin, which is then cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to yield the secreted albumin.
