CEACAM1은 carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, immunoglobulin superfamily의 일원입니다.
이 단백질은 간의 담관에서 처음 발견된 biliary glycoprotein으로, 이후 백혈구, 상피세포, 내피세포 등에서 발현되는 세포 간 접착 분자로 확인되었습니다.
CEACAM1은 동종 및 이종 결합을 통해 세포 부착을 매개하며, 조직 구조 형성, 혈관신생, 세포사멸, 종양 억제, 전이, 면역 반응 조절 등 다양한 생물학적 기능에 관여합니다.
여러 전사체 변이가 보고되었으며, 그중 두 가지의 전체 길이가 확인되었습니다.
