Target Information
This gene encodes three isoforms through alternative splicing.
Two isoforms act as specific inhibitors of type 1 serine/threonine protein phosphatases and can bind but not cleave RNA.
The third isoform functions as a single-strand endoribonuclease similar to RNase E of E. coli, requiring magnesium to cleave A+U-rich regions of RNA.
