Lipoamide Dehydrogenase antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis.
Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified Lipoamide Dehydrogenase (Porcine Heart). Cross-reactivity with other sources is unknown.
Target Information
This gene encodes the L protein of the mitochondrial glycine cleavage system, also known as dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase. It is a component of:
- Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex
- Alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase complex
- Branched-chain alpha-keto acid dehydrogenase complex
Mutations in this gene are associated with E3-deficient maple syrup urine disease and lipoamide dehydrogenase deficiency.
