Target Information
Angiopoietins are key proteins involved in vascular development and angiogenesis. They bind to an endothelial cell-specific tyrosine-protein kinase receptor, activating it through tyrosine phosphorylation. Angiopoietin 1 plays a crucial role in mediating interactions between the endothelium and surrounding matrix and mesenchyme, contributing to blood vessel maturation and stability, and may also play a role in early heart development.
