Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
MC5R (Melanocortin Receptor 5) mediates the effects of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), activating adenylate cyclase. It regulates multiple physiological functions including thermoregulation, immunomodulation, appetite control, and sexual behavior. MC5R is expressed in various tissues such as pituitary, exocrine glands, reproductive organs, lung, kidney, and esophagus. No human ESTs have been isolated.
