Target Information
Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18)은 저분자량 케라틴의 산성(type A) 하위군에 속하며, Cytokeratin 8과 함께 존재합니다. 위장관, 호흡기, 비뇨생식기, 내분비 및 외분비 조직, 중피세포 등에서 발현됩니다. 비편평 상피와 대부분의 선암 및 관암에서 발현되며, 편평세포암에서는 발현되지 않습니다. 간세포암은 Cytokeratin 8과 18만을 발현합니다. Cytokeratin 18 유전자의 변이는 cryptogenic cirrhosis와 연관되어 있습니다. 두 가지 전사 변이체가 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다. Cytokeratin 발현 패턴은 다양한 상피성 악성종양의 감별 진단에 활용되며, 면역조직화학, 세포병리학, 유세포분석에 유용한 도구로 사용됩니다.
