Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the aldo-keto reductase (AKR) superfamily. Members of this family share a highly conserved TIM barrel structure and function as NAD(P)H-dependent oxidoreductases of carbonyl groups. AKR1E2 transcripts have been detected in human testis, and alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
