Target Information
PIP5K1C lipid kinase (phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase 1 gamma) phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate to form phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate.
This protein is localized at synapses and plays roles in endocytosis and cell migration.
PIP5K1C associates with β-catenin, enhancing its activity downstream of growth factor stimulation.
Its expression and kinase activity promote β-catenin phosphorylation that facilitates nuclear import and transcriptional activation.
Deficiency of PIP5K1C impairs neutrophil recruitment due to adhesion defects, and it regulates adhesion via RhoA GTPase and integrin activation by chemoattractants.
