Product Specific Information
PA5-16647 targets Kappa Light Chain in IHC (P) applications and shows reactivity with human, baboon, monkey, and rat samples. It does not react with dog samples.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10–20 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
The immunogen is kappa light chains purified from human Bence Jones proteins.
Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share a basic structure of four polypeptide chains: two heavy chains and two light chains (kappa and lambda, each ~22.5 kDa).
Kappa and lambda chains consist of variable and constant regions, distinguishable by the antigenic properties of the constant region.
The ratio of kappa to lambda is approximately 70:30.
Antibodies to kappa light chain are useful for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates malignant infiltration.
