Target Information
Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxykinase 1 (PCK1) is a key regulatory enzyme in gluconeogenesis. It acts as the rate-limiting enzyme controlling glucose production and metabolic balance. PCK1 also regulates memory CH8(+) T-cell formation via gluconeogenesis and influences lipogenesis through phosphorylation at Ser-90 by AKT1, which modulates its kinase activity and interaction with metabolic proteins. An important paralog of this gene is PCK2.
