Target Information
GTP-binding proteins are GTPases that act as molecular switches, toggling between active (GTP-bound) and inactive (GDP-bound) states. When activated, they transmit signals within the cell, often initiated by extracellular ligand binding to G-protein-linked receptors. The signal is terminated when the G protein hydrolyzes GTP to GDP, returning to its inactive state.
