RSPO4는 R-spondin 단백질 패밀리의 구성원으로, 신호 펩타이드, 시스테인 풍부/푸린 유사 도메인, 트롬보스폰딘 도메인 및 C-말단 염기성 영역으로 구성된 공통 도메인 구조를 가집니다. 이 단백질은 Wnt/β-catenin 신호 경로의 활성화에 관여할 수 있으며, 유전자 변이는 선천성 무조증(anonychia congenital)과 관련이 있습니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사체 변이가 생성됩니다.
