Target Information
CD200 is a type‑1 membrane glycoprotein with two immunoglobulin domains, belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is broadly distributed on cell surfaces and interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells to inhibit macrophage activation. Homologues are found in many herpesviruses and poxviruses. Studies in mouse and rat suggest CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and provides inhibitory signals to macrophage lineages. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, encoding different isoforms. CD200 dysfunction has been associated with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
