Target Information
CSF1R (FMS) is a tyrosine kinase transmembrane receptor involved in the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages. Ligand binding activates the receptor kinase through oligomerization and transphosphorylation.
This receptor plays an essential role in regulating survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, particularly mononuclear phagocytes such as macrophages and monocytes.
CSF1R promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines in response to IL34 and CSF1, contributing to innate immunity and inflammatory processes.
Mutations in the CSF1R gene have been associated with predisposition to myeloid malignancy.
