Target Information
The p95 gene (also known as NBS1 or nibrin) is part of the hMre11/hRad50 double-strand break repair complex.
This complex is associated with Nijmegen breakage syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by increased cancer susceptibility, cell cycle checkpoint defects, and sensitivity to ionizing radiation.
It provides a molecular link between double-strand break repair and cell cycle checkpoint control.
