ZNF396(또는 PRDM17)은 Kruppel C2H2-type zinc-finger 단백질 패밀리에 속하는 720 아미노산 길이의 핵 단백질로, 10개의 C2H2-type zinc finger를 포함합니다.
ZNF408 유전자는 인간 염색체 11에 위치하며, 이 염색체는 약 1,400개의 유전자를 포함하고 인간 유전체의 약 4%를 차지합니다.
염색체 11 관련 질환으로는 Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome, Jacobsen syndrome, Niemann-Pick disease, hereditary angioedema, Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome 등이 있습니다.
