This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CEP170.
Target Information
CEP170 is a component of the centrosome, a non-membranous organelle functioning as the major microtubule-organizing center in animal cells. During interphase, it localizes to the sub-distal appendages of mature centrioles, aiding in centrosome organization. During mitosis, it associates with spindle microtubules near centrosomes. CEP170 interacts with and is phosphorylated by polo-like kinase 1, contributing to microtubule organization and cell morphology. The human genome contains a putative pseudogene, and several alternatively spliced transcript variants exist.
