Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody HP-F1 recognizes CD85j (ILT2, LILRB1, LIR1), a member of the ILT/LIR/MIR family.
CD85j is a single transmembrane glycoprotein with four ITIMs that signal through SHP-1. It is expressed on myeloid cells (monocytes, dendritic cells) and subsets of lymphoid cells (NK, T, B cells). Expression correlates with leukemias such as ALL and CLL and plays roles in viral infections (HIV, EBV, CMV).

• Functional note: HP-F1 reduces CD16-dependent cytolytic activity of NK cells

Target Information

This gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family located at chromosome 19q13.4.
The encoded protein (subfamily B) contains 2–4 extracellular Ig domains, a transmembrane region, and 2–4 ITIMs.
It is expressed on immune cells, binding to MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells to deliver inhibitory signals that regulate immune activation, inflammation, and cytotoxicity.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
