Target Information
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as novel cancer or disease biomarkers.
This gene, part of the kallikrein cluster on chromosome 19, may be involved in proteolytic cascades in the skin and serve as a biomarker for ovarian cancer.
Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
