Target Information
CDY1 단백질은 chromodomain과 histone acetyltransferase 촉매 도메인을 포함합니다. Chromodomain 단백질은 heterochromatin 복합체의 구성 요소로서 유전자 억제 역할을 수행할 수 있습니다. Histone의 과아세틸화는 protamine이 histone을 대체하여 DNA 포장 단백질로 전환되는 과정을 촉진하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질은 후기 정자세포의 핵에 위치하며, 인간 Y 염색체에는 이 유전자의 동일한 복사본이 존재합니다. 두 가지 단백질 isoform이 전사 변이체에 의해 인코딩됩니다.
