Target Information
MYADM, part of the MAL family, is a 322-amino acid protein with seven hydrophobic transmembrane domains and multiple phosphorylation consensus sites. It shares 75.8% sequence identity with mouse in transmembrane regions and is associated with hematopoietic cell differentiation and acute promyelocytic leukemia. Expression increases in NB4 cells induced by all-trans retinoic acid, while downregulation inhibits bone marrow colony formation. MYADM may serve as a marker for hematopoietic differentiation and as a diagnostic or therapeutic target. It is expressed widely in brain and pancreatic islet cells.
