The ViraPower™ II Lentiviral Gateway™ Expression System includes all the components needed to generate lentivirus, including vector kit, 293FT cell line, and the support kit. This kit combines Invitrogen`s ViraPower™ II Lentiviral and Gateway™ technologies to facilitate easy recombination-based cloning and lentiviral-based expression of a target gene in dividing and non-dividing mammalian cells. The pLenti6.2⁄V5-DEST™ vector in the kit has the CMV promoter for driving constitutive expression of the target gene in mammalian cells. The ViraPower™ II Lentiviral system uses the PGK promoter instead of SV40 promoter in the lentiviral vector for driving long-term, persistent expression of the blasticidin stable selection marker.
