Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

PEDF (SERPINF1) is a noninhibitory serpin exhibiting neurotrophic, anti-angiogenic, and anti-tumorigenic properties.
It is a 50 kDa glycoprotein secreted in various tissues. PEDF induces apoptosis in proliferating endothelial cells and inhibits angiogenic factors such as VEGF and FGF-2.
Its neuroprotective effects stem from suppression of neuronal apoptosis induced by oxidative or excitotoxic stress.
PEDF binds to a lipase-linked receptor (PEDF-R) with high affinity, the only known serpin signaling receptor.
These properties suggest PEDF as a potential therapeutic target for vasculature-related neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., AMD, PDR) and angiogenesis-related cancers.
